Decrease of provision for doubtful debt = income.

provision for doubtful debt = allowance for receivables ( debit to irrecoverable debt, credit to allowance for receivables)
increase in allowance for receivables will be credit to income statement.
Receipt of irrecoverable debt will also credit to income statement.

residual value trong Tiếng Việt gọi là giá trị thuần có thể thực hiện đc ( tức là theo dự định, sau khi TSCD hết thời gian sử dụng dự kiến sẽ bán đc bao nhiêu )......Nhưng chưa chắc residual value = cost - acumulated depreciation đâu...Cái này là do dự kiến thôi, bạn hiểu sai vấn đề rồi...Tốt nhất bạn nên xem lại CAT3 nếu có sách...Nice day

OK. residual value is "The amount a company expects to be able to sell a fixed asset for at the end of its useful life". Đó là giá trị thanh lý ước tính
Tuy nhiên nó không phải là giá trị thuần có thể thực hiện được, giá trị thu hồi ước tính là salvage value = The estimated value of an asset at the end of its useful life.
Giá trị thuần có thể thực hiện được = Net Realisable Value thường áp dụng trong kế toán hàng tồn kho.

_ Residual value is the net amount that an entity would currently obtained when disposal/sold of non-current asset, after deducting estimated cost of disposal if asset were already of the age and in the condition expected at the end of its useful life.
_ Accumulated depreciation is recorded in B/S ( contra asset account)
Bạn cứ hiểu khấu hao là một sự phân bổ "giá trị phải khấu hao" ( depreciable amount ) cho từng kì kế toán đảm bảo nguyên tắc matching.
Còn giá trị thanh lý là giá trị mà ta thu được khi thanh lý/ nhượng bán tài sản sau khi trừ đi các chi phí có liên quan cho việc thanh lý
Câu hỏi thứ 2 theo mình nghĩ bạn nên dùng "allowance for doubtful debt" cho chính xác( F3/ACCA). Do provision thường liên quan đến các khoản dự phòng nợ phải trả ( dịch vụ bảo đảm, bảo hành sản phẩm, các tranh chấp pháp lý,...)
