1. Bảo hiểm xã hội Việt Nam là cơ quan thuộc Chính Phủ có nhiệm vụ thự hiện các chính sách bảo hiểm xã hội và bảo hiểm y tế trên toàn quốc. (Viet Nam Social Security is a Government agency responsible for implementing social insurance and health insurance policies nation - wide)
2.Bảo hiểm xã hội Việt Nam có trách nhiệm quản lý quỹ bảo hiểm xã hội và quỹ bảo hiểm y tế theo qui định của luật BHXH và luật BHYT (Viet Nam Social Security is responsible for managing social insurance and health insurance funds in accordance with Social insurance law and health insurance law)
3 Bảo hiểm xã hội và bảo hiểm y tế là các chính sách xã hội quan trọng, trụ cột chính của hệ thống an ninh xã hội

4 Việc thực hiện chính sách bảo hiểm xã hội và bảo hiểm y tế góp phần ổn định xã hội và phát triển kinh tế - xã hội

5 Luật BHXH có hiệu lực từ ngày 01/01/2007. Quốc hội ban hành Luật BHYT vào ngày 14 tháng 11 năm 2008
(Social insurance Law came into force from the 1st January 2007. The Naional Assembly promulgated Health insurance Lawon 14th November 2008)
6 Ngày 22 tháng 08 năm 2008, Chính phủ ban hành Nghị định 94/2008/ND-CP ngày qui định chức năng, nhiệm vụ, quyền hạn và cơ cấu tổ chức của BHXH Việt Nam
(On 22 nd August 2008, The Government promulgated Decree 94/2008/ND – CP stipulating functions, tasks, powers and oranizational structure of Viet Nam Social Security )
7 Bảo hiểm thất nghiệp được thực hiện tại Việt Nam từ năm 2009 (Unemployment Insurance has been implemented in Viet Nam since 2009)
8 Một trong những mục tiêu của BHXH Việt Nam là mở rộng diện bao phủ bảo hiểm y tế cho 80% dân số cả nước trước năm 2020 (One of the objectives of Viet Nam Social Security is to extend health insurance coverage to 80% of the country’s population by 2020)
9 Một trong những mục tiêu của BHXH Việt Nam là bảo đảm cân đối quỹ bảo hiểm xã hội trong dài hạn, quản lý hiệu quả quỹ BHYT (One of the objectives of Viet Nam Social Security is to ensure the balance of social insurance fund for long-term, manage effectively the health insurance fund)
10.Một trong những mục tiêu của BHXH Việt Nam là xây dựng hệ thống BHXH hiện đại, chuyên nghiệp, hoạt động hiệu quả (One of the objectives of Viet Nam Social Security is to build up a modern, professional and effectively – operated social security system)
11 Hội đồng quản lý BHXH Việt Nam do chính phủ thành lập có trách nhiệm chỉ đạo và giám sát các hoạt động của BHXH Việt Nama (The Governing Body of Viet Nam Social Security formed by the Government is responsible for directing and supervising the operation of Viet Nam Social Security )
12 Chủ tịch, phó Chủ tịch và các thành viên Hội đồng quản lý của BHXH Việt Nam do Thủ tướng Chính phủ bổ nhiệm, miễn nhiệm với nhiệm kỳ 05 năm (Chairperson, Vice Chaiperson and members of the Government Body of Viet Nam Social Secutity are appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister of Government with a five – year term)
13 Tổng Giám đốc bảo hiểm xã hội Việt Nam là đại diện pháp nhân của BHXH Việt Nam do Thủ tướng Chính phủ bổ nhiệm, miễn nhiệm (Director General of Viet Nam Social Security is the legal personality of Viet Nam Social Security who is appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister)
14 BHXH Việt Nam được tổ chức theo hệ thống dọc với 3 cấp quản lý bao gồm cấp Trung Ương, cấp tỉnh và cấp huyện (Viet Nam Social Security is organized vertically with three administrative levels including Central, Provincial and Dictrict levels)
15. Tuổi hương lương huu đc quy định trong luat BHXH là 60 tuoi đối với nam và 55 tuoi doi voi nu ( Retirement age is stipulated in the social in surance law is 60 years fom men, 55 years for women)
16. Nguoi lao dong la nam du 60 tuoi va 20 nam dong BHXH tro len thi duoc huong luong huu hang thang ( Male workers are full 60 years and above 20 years of social in surance contribution shall be entitled to a monthy pension)
